How can I configure email notifications in Trac?
Posted by Michael Ching (Admin) on 17 May 2005 10:24 AM
You are able to configure your project logo directly through the WebAdmin module using the following steps:

1. Browse to https://wush.net/trac/ACCOUNTNAME and log in using an account with Trac administrative privileges. By default, this is the developer account with the same name as your account name. For example, if your account name was "myProject1", you would log in to https://wush.net/trac/myProject1/ with the username "myProject1".
2. Click the "Admin" tab at the top of your page. Then, click the "Notifications" menu item on the left side of your screen
3. Update the values for always_notify_owner, always_notify_reporter, always_notify_updater, smtp_always_bcc, smtp_always_cc, smtp_from and smpt_replyto as required. Set smtp_enabled to true.
4. Click "Apply changes" and verify that notifications are working. Please note that you will not receive updates to changes you make from your own account. If you encounter problems, please contact support@wush.net and we will assist with troubleshooting.

If always_notify_owner, always_notify_reporter and always_notify_updater are disabled, then only users explicitly defined in the "Cc" field of a ticket and those in the always_bcc/always_cc lists will be emailed. Please see http://trac.edgewall.org/wiki/TracNotification for more information.

If you are an existing customer, you may be running on an older setup of Trac. If you see the text "Powered by Trac 0.10.4" at the bottom of your Trac pages, please contact support@wush.net to have our staff apply the needed changes for you. Please include the following information in your ticket:

always_notify_owner: yes/no, should the ticket owner be emailed? This is the person selected in "Assign to".
always_notify_reporter: yes/no, should the ticket reporter be emailed? This is the person who initially submit the ticket.
always_notify_updater: yes/no, should the ticket updater be emailed? This is the person who made the current change.
smtp_always_bcc: list of any users who should be bcc'ed for any ticket changes
smtp_always_cc: list of any users who should be cc'ed for any ticket changes
smtp_from: from address for outgoing emails
